Ayurvedic Winter Tea: Detox and Rehydrate

It can be quite hard to keep ourselves hydrated in winter when we’re less inclined to drink a refreshing glass of water during the day. Having a flask of Winter Tea at hand solves that issue and it’s delicious, warming and thirst-quenching. It also has a purifying effect and aids digestion.

Ama Panchana (Spice Water):
Bring 1/2 liter of water to a rolling boil for several minutes and pour into a thermos flask.
Add a few thin slices of fresh ginger, a pinch of fennel seeds, a pinch of cumin seeds,  a sprig of fresh mint leaves and 1 black peppercorn*
Leave to steep for an hour.
* You can make a flask in the evening, ready for your early morning, but then leave out the pepper or it will become too spicy.
