Beginners Workshop, 27th October 2012, Woodchester

This workshop is for anybody who is new to yoga, or has been out of touch for a while. It is a great opportunity to get a taste of what yoga is all about, and a lovely way to stretch, breathe and unwind; to start the weekend relaxed and refreshed.

We will have two full hours to carefully explore a number of classic yoga poses (asanas) and other yogic exercises such as breathing, relaxation and meditation.

After a gentle warm up we will go through a flowing sequence called the Sun Salutation, which strings together six different asanas. You will learn to do the poses step by step and to synchronise the movements with the breath.

We will also do some floor based asanas, taking time to discover what they really feel like from the inside out.

All this action is followed by a deep relaxation, in which you will be guided to completely let go of any tension, and we end with a short meditation.

The Beginners Workshop will give you a good foundation from which to join any of the regular All Levels classes that are held in the Stroud, Nailsworth, Cirencester area.
