Our Hatha Yoga classes aim to find a healthy balance between the active and receptive, doing and non-doing, to bring consciousness into the movement. We look for the right balance between effort and relaxation within the asanas, to challenge ourselves whilst respecting our boundaries. We include pranayama (breath awareness) and core strength to stabilise mind and body, as well as deep relaxation to let go of all tension and allow the body complete rest. At the end we take several moments to observe the mind and the subtle body in meditation.
We don’t intend to make the poses ever more complex or advanced, but rather to hone our attention to notice the smaller details about the way we move and how we could do it better, more naturally, more skilfully, more pleasurably. Bringing this intention to your yoga practice will help you move with ease and grace in your everyday life, and bring awareness and kindness to life itself.
The class is held in accordance with government guidelines to help prevent the spread of the virus.
